Achievements

1. Participation in Conferences, Seminars and Workshops organized by UNICEF, ILO and British Council.
2. Sustenance of all the school activities such as: Routine Teaching, Learning and Sporting Activities.
3. Execution of an ILO Project in collaboration with Family Craft Centre to withdraw 200 child scavengers and 300 female street hawkers and reintegrating them into either formal, non-formal education or vocational training (2002/2003).
4. Execution of the second ILO Project in collaboration with Jama’atu Nasrul Islam (JNI) on the withdrawal, prevention and rehabilitation of 550 child domestic workers in Kaduna metropolis (2005).
5. Execution of NAPEP Project for the implementation of in Care of the People (COPE), which is a Federal Government Programme that empowered the poorest of the poor. Five Hundred (500) households in ten (10) Local Government Areas in the State were empowered in 2010/2011 through HDFN.
6. Execution of various School Projects with the support of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) where the sum 4.5million Naira released for the Foundation was judiciously used for the completion of Corpers Lodge, construction of a Borehole, general repairs of classrooms and gate, construction of staff restroom, purchase of instructional materials and intensive staff training.

Constraints
The main problem of the Foundation is lack of funds to execute its major programmes, maintain infrastructure and complete its building projects (i.e. classroom Block/Clinic, Home Economics and Computer Laboratories) to provide a more conductive atmosphere for the school activities (Annex I).

The Foundation’s over dependence on donations from Government, Organisation, Philanthropists, Contributions from its Members, Patrons and Trustees has stunted its growth and diminished its capacity to render its much needed Humanitarian Services effectively.

Conclusion
HDFN as an organisation is working tirelessly to educate the children of the less privileged in the society and their parents are taught basic literacy and vocational training so that they could cater for themselves and their families. From inception to date, the school has graduated more than 300 pupils that have completed primary six (6). If not for this effort, some of these children would have been in the streets as child beggars, scavengers, hawkers etc, and some could have become embroiled the society due to vices like drugs abuse, gang violence or extremism.
